November 26, 2005: Tennessee Pass 5-Miler Snowshoe.
A classic race through the woods at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center.
Expect a lot of tough single track and big hills. 10 AM start. More info:

A new snowshoe race through the woods at the historic Leadville Fish Hatchery.

January 7, 2006: Turquoise Lake 20 Mile Snowshoe Run.
17th Annual snowshoe race around Turquoise Lake with a "quick"
side trip to Uncle Bud's cabin. About half single track and half on groomed
Turquoise Lake Road. This is a classic, tough Leadville event. Only $15

January 28: Winter Mountain Bike Series #1.
Race #1: The East Side Epic! Join Melanzana and the Bicycle Haven for
a low key and fun mountain bike race series on snow. This race will follow
roads and snowmobile trails through the historic east side mining district
above Leadville. A fun romp through the snow for sure. Register at 9 AM
at the top of East 8th St in Leadville. $15. Call Derek at 970-293-0872

February 11: Winter Mountain Bike Series #2.
Race #2: The Night Jam! Join Melanzana and the Bicycle Haven for a low
key and fun mountain bike race series on snow. This race will be on the
Nordic Trails at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center at Ski Cooper. Expect
some tough climbs and hairy downhills, and don't forget your lighting
system. Register at 6 PM at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center at the base
of Ski Cooper, 10 miles N of Leadville on Hwy 24. $15. Call Derek at 970-293-0872

February 12: Annual Ice Fishing Derby.

February 18: Leadville
K9 Skijor Classic.
3rd Annual running of this nordic ski race with dogs at the Tennessee
Pass Nordic Center. If you have a dog thats loves to run and pull, and
if you love to nordic ski, then this is your sport! 9 mile and 4 mile
courses run in the morning, followed by a cookout lunch and a FREE afternoon
"How to Skijor" Clinic. Sponsored by Melanzana. Click

February 25: Winter Mountain Bike Series #3.
Final race of the series, around Turquoise Lake. Join Melanzana and the
Bicycle Haven for a low key and fun mountain bike race series on snow.
This race will follow the 12.5 mile Turquoise Lake Road, with over 1500'
of climbing, normally groomed or at least packed by snowmobiles. Register
at 9 AM at the Turquoise Lake dam trailhead, 4 miles west of Leadville
(from downtown Leadville, turn at the light onto West 6th St, go one mile,
turn right at the "T" onto County Road 4, follow for 3 miles,
turn right at the "Y", past Sugar Loafin' Campground and on

February 25: Family Fun Nordic Ski Races.
2.5k kid's race & 5k/ 10k adult. Fun challanging course at the Tennessee
Pass Nordic Center. A benefit for Full Circle mentoring program. 10AM

March 4,5: Skijoring on Harrison Avenue.

the course in downtown Leadville. Crazy fun for spectators and racers
