The Leadville K9 Skijor Classic

1-Dog and 2-Dog Nordic Skijor races, on a 4 and 9 mile groomed course.

A Benefit for the Leadville Animal Shelter and Skijor Colorado

Schedule of Events:

· 8:30 AM Saturday: Required drivers meeting for long course at starting area.

· 9 AM: Racing begins with 9 mile advanced course. 2-Dog and 1-Dog start consecutively (1 minute intervals).

· 10 AM: Required drivers meeting for short course at starting area.

· 10:30 AM: Racing continues with 4 mile short course. 2-Dog and 1-Dog start consecutively (1 minute intervals).

· NOON: Awards/ Cookout at starting area.

· 1 PM: Free Skijor Clinic at race site (please pre-register)

Race day registration must be before 8:30 AM for long course and before 10 AM for short course.

Race site: 1 mile south of Ski Cooper/ Tennessee Pass on Hwy 24, at the 10th Mountain Hut/ Webster’s Gravel Pit parking area.

Course available by special permission from Tennessee Pass Nordic Center. Course trails will be open to other users during the time of the race. Trail Pass required to access trails at any other time. Special rules apply to dog access on T. P. Nordic Center trails. Race officials will determine starting order. Race Veterinarian on call. Race Officials may handle dogs at any time.

By signing below, I waive and release, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, any and all rights or claims for damages which I or my dogs may incur against property owners, spectators, directors, the Leadville K9 Skijor Classic, Melanzana, Lake County, Tennessee Pass Nordic Center, Ski Cooper, the Rocky Mountain Sled Dog Club Inc and/ or anyone else connected with this event in any way. I will not hold the sponsors, landowners or any of the RGO members liable for injury of myself, driver, handlers or any of my dogs. Race organizers may use my name, photo or comments to publicize this event.
